Another area where you need to be prepared for before taking the HESI exam is mental health questions. You need to be sensitive to each patients needs. For example an anorexic patient will need to be dealt with in a different way than a bulimic patient. You have to be aware of the patients rights at all times and need to encourage them a little bit at a time. There will be times when you will need to distract patients and at other times you may have to ignore them. So studying up and preparing yourself with these types of questions will be a good idea before you take the HESI exam.
The other subjects that will be dealt with for the HESI exam are delegation questions, therapeutic communication, medication administration and post operative (post op) care.
